Monserrate palace and garden in Sintra

Writer's picture: Maryana SerpininaMaryana Serpinina

So I went to the famous Monserrate in Sintra.

Naturally, I decided to make this my next trip! After my last (seven-hour) walk in Capuchos, an hour's walk from the station is generally a warm-up. So I listened to the birds, exercised my legs and recharged from nature, so to speak.

I decided to go to the palace first, quickly. And to be honest, he disappointed me. They received a bunch of awards for the restoration. But nothing particularly surprised me there - only one hall. This is my office for writing, give it to me!

And the garden - wow! If you are interested in flowers, you can get lost there, and get lost in the names alone! Several types of gardens, giant trees, gorgeous colors and exotic flowers. You could walk there from morning to evening, and not have time to see everything, your eyes wouldn’t be enough!

I left there right before closing. The girl opened the already closed gate for me and wished me a good evening, and of course I answered her in the same way. It’s a pity, however, that I didn’t have time to see the Asian garden.

But the most important thing is that I managed to do what I came for - to sit peacefully in the garden café with a wonderful book. And no one was rushing me anywhere, I didn’t have to run anywhere, and no one kicked me out of there...
