And so, as promised, I returned to the Queluz Palace. But this time it was June heat of 30º.
Having taken my ticket, I flew past the palace itself (having said hello, of course, to my favorite grandfather clock as I went), and fluttered out into the serene garden. I thought I’d spend a maximum of 40 minutes on it, so what’s there to see, right? I'm just going to the garden! After all, I’ve already been here, and there must be nothing left to see! Yes, and this palace is located in an unclear place - and it’s not like Sintra, or Lisbon - just in the middle... And this garden is not at all famous...
I wandered through the labyrinths of nature for more than two hours - and these are only the parts that I had not yet seen during my last visit. And while I was walking, the hot sun periodically warmed my shoulders, and a light breeze blew across them. And I didn’t want to leave there at all. Now I understand why in ancient times kings and queens hid in gardens like these in the heat of the day - and it wasn’t too hot, but not too cold either, just right...
On the way out, a surprise awaited me - an exhibition of vintage cars was organized right in front of the palace. Well, how can I resist this and not show it to you? ;)
